Justin T. Malone

Justin T. Malone is a rising filmmaker with an eye for the grotesque, profane, and darkly humorous. Working in the Southern Gothic literary tradition, Justin's films typically focus on working class rural Southerners like the people he grew up around in West Tennessee.

Justin’s films have been selected to film festivals across the country. In 2020, his feature length screenplay The Devil’s Workshop was selected as a quarter-finalist for the ScreenCraft Drama Screenplay contest, and he was a finalist for the University Film and Video Association’s Carole Fielding Grant in recognition of ROADKILL. In 2020 he was
awarded a $13,000 grant through the Indie Memphis Film Festival’s IndieGrant program to assist in the development and production of his short film Beware of Goat, a dark comedy playing in festivals throughout 2023 with an online premiere in early 2024. Beware of Goat won Best Comedy at the 2023 Tonkawa Film Festival.
